DIIICA Joins NACDA

CLEVELAND — The Division III Conference Commissioner Association (DIIICA) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA)  announced today that the groups have entered into a partnership, which became effective January 2022.

The DIIICA will be the 18th professional association that is managed out of the NACDA & Affiliates office, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio.

"As the DIIICA has evolved, the need for the administrative support and expertise that NACDA provides other associations became paramount for the future of our organization," commented DIIICA President Patrick B. Summers, executive director of the NEWMAC. "This partnership with NACDA was endorsed by the 43 commissioners/executive directors that comprise the DIIICA. We are excited for this relationship to begin and thank NACDA for their continued leadership and support. Additionally, I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the NCAA Division III Presidents Council who extended financial assistance to the DIIICA in support of our relationship with NACDA."

"We are excited to have the Division III Commissioners join the NACDA family of Associations and look forward to continuing to grow the synergy of educational platforms that allows all associations under the NACDA umbrella to work in concert to improve services to student-athletes and administrators," stated NACDA Chief Executive Officer Bob Vecchione. "In 2016, we partnered with NADIIIAA, so having the commissioners join the fold will enhance the overall communication efforts for the division going forward."

About the DIIICA: The Division III Commissioners Association became a stand-alone organization in January 1992, after previously serving as a combined group with the Division II Commissioners Association. The association is comprised of 43 NCAA Division III conferences, representing over 440 public and private institutions. The purpose of the DIIICA is to empower commissioners to effectively lead their conferences and positively impact Division III intercollegiate athletics by identifying challenges, developing solutions, and taking collective action that reflects the conference perspective.

About NACDA: NACDA, now in its 57th year, is the professional and educational Association for more than 22,000 college athletics administrators at more than 2,200 institutions throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. NACDA manages 17 professional associations and four foundations. In addition to virtual programming, NACDA hosts five major professional development events in-person annually. The NACDA & Affiliates Convention is the largest gathering of collegiate athletics administrators in the country. For more information, visit www.nacda.com.
